  1. Any idea how many people we're talking? I know they just recently hired a new Technical Director that came from Euro RSCG Edge . . .

  2. Is it true that The New Group is run by religious fanatics? AKA "Christians". Someone told me that they have mandatory bible study meetings. WTF????

  3. Yeah, right, and Dan Wieden leads everyone in morning Fajr Salah...

  5. The New Group is doing fine. They are actually trying to hire some developers.

  6. I've also heard that TNG is pretty bible-y, but haven't heard of mandatory bible meetings.

  7. As a atheist who works there, I have yet to see a bible anywhere. I think the two head guys are into being Christian, but everyone who works here is a mix of beliefs and backgrounds.

  8. TNG did have to reduce its strategy team by 2 people today. With the mix of our current and projected work, we are not able to keep these two talented individuals in the roles that they were working in.

Being a business owner with a Christian faith does not mean life is always pretty, only that life is in perspective. Business happens.

I presume there are many faiths and beliefs represented by our great staff; no, we don’t have mandatory bible studies; I read the bible from my iphone, so there may not be any bibles laying around. Don't really know.

Not sure how real facts play on a gossip blog, but I’m happy to answer any other questions if you’d like to go to the source. 503-784-3877 or doug.new@thenewgroup.com

  10. Doug's post is an example of why The New Group is a great place to work. Having been at agencies that had trouble with honesty, I'm glad to be somewhere where it is the standard.

  11. Every morning at TNG I host a Bible study. But only the sexy parts.

  12. Very classy response Doug, I really admire your candor. I think agency professionals in Portland are still recovering from previous work environments where the cultures lack process or owners straight up steal retirement dollars from their team, like in the case of Overland. Thank you for speaking frankly and not resorting to slander out of desperation. Others should watch and learn.
