Saltmine's Chaper 7 is a ruse - CEO hijacked the portfolio and re-formed firm as Minebrain to skirt debts

While Saltmine has a long legacy in of stiffing northwest contractors over the years, the agency's name was taken to new lows recentyl when the owner stopped paying the rent, and then missed payroll for his Portland and Bellevue staff prior to filing for bankruptcy protection. The reported $13.6M in outstanding debts is owed to variety of vendors, staff, and 1099 contractors… some of those same staff whom were fired AFTER they had not been paid for sometime.

To add insult to injury, rumor has it the company has reformed under a new name: Minebrain. Based on this thread... they not only show Saltmine's creative (some created previous to the 2008 acquisition) on their website, they even took the UI that the Saltmine team had developed for there next site refresh. ouch.

It has also come to light that 2 years prior to purchasing Saltmine, PK Samal had vindictively sabotaged a previous client's website over a disputed $2,400 contract. I guess he does know how it feels to get stiffed.
